I'd rather be on the wagon

I am not eating well.
I am not working out.
I. AM. NOT. WEARING. LEG. WARMERS.
I am avoiding you.

Could you tell?

My friend has this great saying.  It must be a Baltimore thing (hon) because I had never heard it before and because it is awesome.  It goes:

Sometimes you need tea and sympathy, sometimes you need a tool kit and a rope.  (Or is it a rope and a hammer?  Or a hammer and a tool kit?)  Any way, you get the point.  I love it, and it is so true.

Sometimes I need a shoulder to lean on.  To be able to complain to.  A person to tell me they understand.

I have that - in all of you.  Those of you who read or comment.  Those of you who cheer me on.  And because you do support me so well, I feel like I am letting you down.

I am fortunate that I haven't gained too many pounds back - but I have gained.  And boy, does that suck.  It makes me wonder - how many times are you going to give up, "take a break", or be utterly apathetic.

Sometimes I need someone to hand me the hammer.  Cause I have the nails.  A whole bunch of em, really. And these leg warmers aren't going to get back on by me just sitting here.

  1. Ooooh, accountability guilt is a powerful thing. Get back on your wagon. I'll be nice this week but next week I'll have a side-eyed glance in your direction. Have a Happy New Year :) Get those leg-warmers back on!

  2. Honestly, I don't care what it is you are doing that makes you feel bad. You know what it is. I don't need to. I just want you to know that I am here for you and will welcome you back with open arms to the Mamavation Sistahood. You don't need to confess your sins, you can just move forward. Okay?

  4. We all slip at some time and for one reason or another. Step one is recognizing you've slipped and you've already done that. None of is perfect and what kind of friends would we be if we didn't pick you up dust you off and let you know we still love you?! Face it, if most were perfect the pressure would be too much for the rest of us and we'd fail at all times. You don't need to be perfect just forgiven and that applies to ALL sins and all people! Now, put a smile on that face and when I slip I'll expect a bit of understanding from you. :) XOXO

  6. Don't sweat it. I'm sure we've all been down the same road. I know I have. Chin up, hop on the wagon, and none of us will judge you. I think that is why this network of women exists because we understand. It is okay to have a bad time, but it is NOT okay to give up. Never give up. We're here for you!

  8. Oh girlfriend!! I am right there with ya!! It is hard to be so accountable but at the same time that makes it easier! You have to take the good with the bad because this is a JOURNEY!! there will be bumps in the road and some roads that are complete detours! Just keep heading towards your destination!! We will get there together!

  9. Stopping by from twitter-- honestly, I'm not sure how I got here, because I just don't get twitter... sigh.

Anyway, I love this post-- and I've never heard that phrase either, so I'm going to agree with you and say it's a Baltimore thing :)

  12. You know what? We are here for you and we all go through times like this. Lucky for you to have a support system to help you through. I've tried to do this alone unsuccessfully too many times. Thank goodness for the sisterhood!
