I'd rather be not sore.

Okay mamavation ladies, and any other lovely visitors I may be receiving, here is my weekly update.

I have been doing pretty well with food - and we kept the eating out to just the weekend!  I didn't stick to the plan of doing just one meal out, but we made it every week day with out a last minute trip to a restaurant.  (Believe me, this is HUGE in my house.)  And I can tell my kids are starting to get the drift - getting fruit as a snack with out asking for junk, preferring carrots at a friends house.  Who the heck are these kids!?

I decided that I would share any new workouts with you guys that I do weekly in these posts.  Last week was Bollywood (if you tried it, let me know what you thought!)  This week is the Weight Loss Workout with Violet Zaki.  She reminds me of a British Jillian Michaels - except for not a raving lunatic much sweeter.  (In case you missed me saying it before, while I love what The Shred does for my body, I find Jillian to be my nemesis.) I found Violet's routine to be pretty comparable as far as the sweat factor, and she gave great modifications too.  Plus, she has that cute accent.

She pretty much kicked my butt.  My hamstrings were sore for 4 days.  No joke.  FOUR freakin' days of "oooowwwww" every time I sat down on a hard chair.

The scale went down again - woot!  Another pound gone.  Now I only have two more to lose to get back in the leg warmers! (That means I currently weigh in at 191.)  I'm really excited about this - but I have one MAJOR hurdle coming my way: Disney World.

If you all have any suggestions as to what I can do while I'm there, I would love to hear it.  I know I will be walking all over the place, but in past trips to WDW, I haven't faired too well.  To be honest, I haven't even tried previously.  I'm hoping that if I get my head in the right frame of mind, I'll do okay.  I have one more week to get ready for it, so help me out!

Thanks for stopping by, and thanks for your support.  Mamavation ladies are so great like that. Smooches!

  1. Well, I'm trying to think of what I ate when I was at disneyland and I can't remember. What I would suggest is get burgers w/o the bun and go for some fruit. See if they will do lettuce wraps there. Also, if you go to the mexican restaurant, order tortilla soup w/o the tortilla strips. I'm very proud of you...you WILL be in the 80s sooon!!! XXOO

  2. I think it's great that you're trying different types of exercises. Great job on not eating out, I know that can be hard to do but I know in time it will get easier for you. Kudos to the kids liking their fruit!! You are doing awesome this week!!

  4. YEAH for you! I am trying to get down to my goal weight before our trip to Disney World in May. . . Hopefully I will have worked so hard to get to it that I will be able to resist temptation a little bit while I am there. Can't wait to hear the advice you get on that one!

  5. Try and eat whole foods and you should be ok. Do you have a stove or anything in your room? They must have grocery stores around there. Enough to buy some extra fruits and veggies anyway.

  6. Take healthy snacks with you, or go get some when you get there. And drink or take lots of water!!! See if you have a work out facility in your hotel. And just being in the weight lose mode while there will help.

  8. Awesome progress and amazing influence on your kids - you go, girl!!!

Re: Disney, Can you take snacks? Pack healthy snacks in pre-measured zip bags so you aren't ravenous by the time you sit down to eat.

You're doing great - keep it up!

  9. Pack snacks, lots of them. Walk as much as possible, do some subtle lunges and squats while standing in line (without making others think you've lost your mind!)

Have a great time and don't beat yourself up if you have a treat or two.

  10. Oh boy, Disney. Pack food. Don't let yourself get to a point where you are out right hungry and tempted by all the quick vended foods. If you do snack on something there make it good choices like the turkey leg, or fruit. Also keep drinking the H20. IF you do splurge on food do it in moderation and you better be conscious of what you are eating so you can enjoy it without feeling guilty.

  11. Love that you are trying different exercises, that breaks up the monotony and works a variety of muscle groups. I know everyone has said it, but pack your own foods for Disney if you can (then you are in control).

  13. Wow, it must be a very intensive workout that it made you sore for four days. Way to go! So do you just do the workouts from YouTube or do you have the full-blown DVD that you follow? Keep up those intensive workouts! --- @ImAHotMom

  14. I need to go back & find the Bollywood exercise!! You are doing so great!!! I think you should check & see if you have a fridge (mini or otherwise) & find a grocery store, so you can have some fruit to take w/you that won't cost you an arm & a leg & bring other munchies like nuts. I def wanna see a pic when you get those legwarmers on!
